Introduction to Aluminum Die Casting
Casting is a metal smelting process, usually by using the gravity of the metal to cast it in a mold. But aluminum die casting is not done by gravity, it is done by pressure. It's a bit like injection molding. But it has a set of high-tech core pulling, cooling and other systems. Typically, material is delivered through a central inlet into the cavity to be cast into the "shot" to form the part.
The aluminum suitable for the die casting process is die cast aluminum, usually a die cast aluminum alloy.

High-pressure and high-speed filling of die-casting aluminum are two major characteristics of die-casting aluminum. Its commonly used injection pressure ranges from thousands to tens of thousands of kPa, even up to 2×105kPa. The filling speed is about 10~50m/s, and sometimes even exceeds 100m/s. The filling time is very short, generally in the range of 0.01~0.2s.

Good product quality: high dimensional accuracy of castings, generally equivalent to grade 6~7, even up to grade 4; good surface finish, generally equivalent to grade 5~8; higher strength and hardness, sand casting strength generally increased by 25~ 30%, but the elongation rate is reduced by about 70%. Dimensional stability and good interchangeability; Die-cast aluminum thin-wall complex castings. For example, the minimum wall thickness of zinc alloy die-casting aluminum can reach 0.3mm; aluminum alloy castings can reach 0.5mm; the minimum casting diameter is 0.7mm. The minimum spacing is 0.75mm.
